Our Story
Married couple Steve and Val Askew are the owner/operators of New Zealand’s only Polish restaurant- Topor Bistro. Located in Plimmerton, just north of Wellington City, NZ.
Steve has been running the Front of House and Val, the Executive Chef since April 2013. Together, they have made a multiple award-winning restaurant.
Being Canadian, Val achieved her Red Seal qualifications while pursuing a now 30-year culinary career.
While Steve initially started his career in hospitality, he moved into flexographic printing where he also completed his apprenticeship, which included a national award for his work. Moving back hospitality has been exciting and very rewarding.

Our Story
We used to import all sorts of vodka infusions but became frustrated
because the supply was inconsistent. We took it upon ourselves to
create our own vodka infusions, so as to eliminate the need to rely on
outside sources. The results have been spectacular! We currently
have 17 different flavours at Topor Bistro, as well as other limited
time and special edition flavours . These vodka infusions have been so
well received at Topor Bistro, and with everyone wanting to buy
bottles of the vodka infusions for them to be able to enjoy in their
own homes!
